Կենսագրություն և կարիերա

Ռոլֆ Յոհան Ֆուրուլին ծնվել է 1942 թվականի դեկտեմբերի 19-ին Նորվեգիայում։ Նա համարվում է մի շարք աշխատությունների հեղինակ, որոնք նվիրված են Աստվածաշնչի թարգմանությանը, աստվածաշնչագետների հոդվածներին, թարգմանությունների տեսություններին, Մերձավոր Արևելքի երկրների ժամանակագրությանը, ձեռագիր Աստվածաշունչ մատյաններին և այլն։

Գիտնականը զբաղվել է ոչքրիստոնեական տեքստերի թարգմանությամբ։ Նա համարվում է հին լեզուների գիտակ և փորձագետ։ 2005 թվականին Ռոլֆ Յոհան Ֆուրուլին պաշտպանում է դոկտորական ատենախոսություն դասական եբրայերենի նոր հասկացության վերաբերյալ։ Այս կարևոր աշխատության մեջ գիտնականը ներկայացնում է մանրամասնորեն բայերի ու բայաձևերի վերլուծությունը՝ սկսած հնագույն եբրայերենից մինչև ժամանակակից խոսակցական եբրայերենը (մոտավորապես 80 հազար բայեր)։

Ռոլֆ Յոհան Ֆուրուլին տիրապետում է աքքադերենին, արաբերենին, արամեերենին, լատիներենին, հին սիրիական լեզվին, միջին եգիպտերենին և ուգարիտյան լեզուներին։

«Օսլո ժամանակագրություն»

1984 թվականին Ռոլֆ Յոհան Ֆուրուլին սկսեց ուսումնասիրել Նորբաբելոնյան թագավորության ժամանակաշրջանի Նաբոպոլասար (626—539 թվականներ մեր թվարկությունից առաջ) արքայի դինաստիայի մասին։ Իր հետազոտությունների արդյունքում եկավ այն համոզման, որ պետք է պաշտպանել Եհովայի վկաների տեսությունը (անձամբ Ֆրուլին հավատքի տեսությամբ հենց Եհովայի վկա է, աղանդավոր): Ըստ այդ տեսության, Երուսաղեմը ավերվել է բաբելոնացիների կողմից 607 թվականին, ոչ թե 587 թվականին՝ մեր թվարկությունից առաջ։

Ռոլֆ Յոհան Ֆուրուլի կողմից առաջ քաշվեց այս վարկածը և այն քննության առնվեց միջազգային ասպարեզներում։ Ի դեպ նրա կողմից առաջ քաշված վարկածը կոչվեց «Օսլոյի ժամանակագրություն» (անգլ.՝ Oslo Chronology):
