Several things to remind before CEE Spring 2016 starts

Hi, dear local organizer of CEE Spring 2016! We are thrilled to start the contest from Monday, March 21

But before that we need to ask you several questions:

• Did you create a local project page for the contest in your wiki? Please, be sure to link it with Q22342981.
• Please briefly describe your local rules on Wikimedia CEE Spring 2016/Local rules.
• There is a proposed timeline of thematic weeks about countries: use it! See Wikimedia CEE Spring 2016/Timeline.
• Did you create a template {{CEE Spring 2016}} and make sure that participants will put it on the articles talk pages?

  Please have it similar to this example: uk:Template:CEE Spring 2016 for the purpose of gathering statistics.

  Its code is somewhat generic. It might be that your wiki already has templates which cover its parts, or you would not need some parts like gender selection in case your language does not have genders. Some parts, like category names, are worded a weird way on purpose just to show that in languages which have grammar cases you can avoid conjugation (which will require something like #switch parser function) and just use the nominative case.

• {{CEE Spring 2016}} template requires to create some ~30 hidden categories. Is your wiki ok with that?
• As the contest is held simultaneously in many Wikipedias, it is vital that all articles, contest templates and categories are linked with Wikidata. Don't forget about this :)
• One last question: What time zone do you use for defining contest beginning and ending? Please write here.

News from international CEE Spring 2016

Hi, dear local organizer of CEE Spring 2016! We have some news and updates.

• There are new countries and projects that joined the contest after it started, these are Belarusian classic Wikipedia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Sakha and Turkey. Our Timeline is updated, so please update your plans as well. If some other countries join the contest on the go, we will inform you!
• There are two types of statistics gathered:
  • Using the proposed lists of articles. See m:Wikimedia CEE Spring 2016/Statistics (it counts only articles in the lists).
  • Using the template {{CEE Spring 2016}} on the articles talk pages. See m:User:BaseBot/CEES/MMXVI and subpages.

  If you don't use the template yet, here is an example: uk:Template:CEE Spring 2016. Its usage looks like: {{CEE Spring 2016 |user= |topic= |topic2= |topic3= |country= |country2= |country3= }}

  If you are using it but don't see your project in the stats then, perhaps, you are not using it properly. Only articles created (or improved if the rules allow this) for the contest during its period should have the template on respective talk pages.

• Let us remind you, that as the contest is held simultaneously in many Wikipedias, it is vital that all articles, contest templates and categories are linked with Wikidata. Don't forget about this :)
• If your local contest has some special needs (e.g. stats by weeks), let us know. Having local rules briefly described on Meta page is compulsory for well-mannered organisers :)

Բարև Vahe ջան, տվյալ դեպքում թեև անունը ուկրաիներեն էր, բայց նկարագրում էր նկարը՝ գինը, որ թվին է թողարկվել, ով է վրան և որտեղ է, դարձերես ու նման տեղեկություններ։ Առաջարկվողը թեև անգլերեն էր, բայց այս ըստ անվանափոխման կանոնների, եթե նախկին անվանումը անգլերեն չէ, բայց թերի էլ չէ, չենք անվանափոխում (տես 2-րդ կետը), քանի որ բազմալեզու նախագիծ է։ Միայն եթե լուսանկարների երկար շարք է միատեսակ անուններով և սա էլ ինչ-որ համարով պետք է մտնի այդ շարքի մեջ, այդ դեպքում կարելի է անվանափոխել։ Ճիշտ կլինի նկարի բացատրության մեջ անգլերենով էլ գրել։ Մենք էլ հազարավոր հայերեն վերնագրերով լուսանկարներ ունենք բեռնած։ Եթե օգնության կարիք լինի դիմիր, սիրով կօգնեմ։ --Beko^{Քննարկում} 07:30, 12 Փետրվարի 2017 (UTC)

Beko ջան, եթե հնարավոր է, զուտ հետևյալ շարքի մետաղադրամների ֆայլերի անվանումները անվանափոխիր դիմացում նշվածով։ Սրանցով պղինձ-նիկելե շրջանառու հիշատակային դրամները սահմանափակվում են, իսկ թանկարժեք մետաղներից հուշադրամների ֆայլերի անվանումներով պիտի զբաղվեն ռուս վիքիպեդիստները։

Wikivoyage page banners in Wiki Loves Monuments

Hello Beko!

I am writing you as the contact person for Wiki Loves Monuments in Armenia. This year WLM will be extended by a separate award for Wikivoyage page banners. Wikivoyage is one of Wikimedia sister projects, and page banners are panoramic 7:1 images used as headers in Wikivoyage travel guides. We ask the participants to crop their WLM photos and upload page banners to be used in Wikivoyage. Details can be found here.

We need your help with disseminating information about this award. We would be grateful if you could mention the banner award on your landing page and, ideally, provide a short information about this award in your language, for example, by translating the landing page and sharing the announcement in your language via social networks and blogs.

We seek to fill the gaps and receive page banners of those destinations where good banners are currently missing. To this end, we create lists of destinations where page banners are needed. We can readily do this for Armenia in case there is interest from your side, and provided that such a list will be linked from the main page of WLM in your country. Armenia has good coverage, especially on English Wikivoyage, but many of the travel guides lack good page banners. We hope to improve this situation.

A couple of questions about Wiki Loves Monuments in Armenia

Hi Beko. I'm kind of late but am doing my best to uploads my photos of Armenia for this year's Wiki Loves Monuments contest. :) I have two questions for you:

• Is Cafesjian center for the arts, and/or any of the statues outside of the center or in it registered monuments of Armenia? I couldn't find them in Yerevan->Center and I figured I check with you.
• Also, as you can guess, I don't speak Armenian and have still quite a bit of photos to upload. ;) I'm wondering: is there someone available in your team morning or evening your time (assuming you are in Yerevan) for me to ask some questions about where I should upload some of the photos? For now, I'm doing some backward engineering and figuring out the upload link for some of the photos. :D

Հարգելի -Գարդմանահայ, 2014 թվականի հոդվածի անվանափոխման պահին, հոդվածում միայն հայ քաղաքագլուխների անուններն էին, նաև նշված էր, որ ցուցակում միայն հայ քաղաքագլուխների անուններն են։ Այդ պահին անվանափոխումը արդարացված էր և ճիշտ։ Եթե այժմ ցուցակում ավելացվել են բոլոր քաղաքագլուխները՝ այդ թվում նաև ոչ հայերը, ապա ամեն ինչ ճիշտ է։ --Beko^{Քննարկում} 15:24, 20 Փետրվարի 2019 (UTC)
