Գրավաճառի և տնային տնտեսուհու դուստր Օ'Նիլը մեծացել է գյուղական Նեբրասկայում։ Նա վաղ տարիքում ցուցաբերել է հետաքրքրություն արվեստի հանդեպ և տասնհինգ տարեկանում Նյու Յորքում նկարազարդողի կարիերա է փնտրել։ Նրա Քիվփի մուլտֆիլմերը, որոնք իրենց առաջնամուտն ունեցան «Կանանց տնային ամսագրի» 1909 թվականին թողարկված համարում, ավելի ուշ արտադրվեցին որպես ճենապակյա տիկնիկներ գերմանական կոմպոզիտային նյութերով և ցելյուլոիդային տարբերակներով խաղալիքներ արտադրող J.D.Kestner ընկերության կողմից 1912 թվականին։ Տիկնիկները շատ հայտնի էին քսաներորդ դարի սկզբին և համարվում են ԱՄՆ-ում առաջին զանգվածային խաղալիքներից մեկը։
