Ուրդու (/ˈʊərduː/, ինքնանվանումը՝ اردو), ինչպես նաև տեղականում, որպես Լաշկերի[2] (Laškarīلشکری), հնդեվրոպական լեզու, հինդուստանական լեզուների գործառական ձև[3][4]։ Խոսակցական մակարդակում է փոխըմբռնվում է հինդիի տեղ[5], որը երևան է եկել 13-րդ դարում։ Ուրդուն Պակիստանի երկու պաշտոնական լեզուներից մեկն է (երկրորդը՝ անգլերեն), թեպետ բնակչության միայն 7 %-ն է այն համարում իր մայրենի լեզուն[6]։
Հնդկաստանում այն 22 պետական լեզուներից մեկն է, նման կարգավիճակ ունի նահանգներից վեցում։ Այստեղ դրանով խոսում է ավելի քան 50 միլիոն մարդ[7]։
