Road parallel to the river Araks from Minjivan to Goris - Հ49[խմբագրել | խմբագրել կոդը]

Hi, I would like to ask you a question, maybe you can even discuss it with other Armenian Wikipedians. I'm a contributor to the dutch Wikipedia and we are wondering if the road along the river Araks, the Հ49, was opened for traffic or not? And if so, which parts and in what condition was the road? Was it an alternative for people of southern Artsakh to reach Goris? Was it used maybe by military vehicles only? If you can find any documents on this matter, and link to them that would be awesome. Thanks in advance, kind regards, Bernardus63 (քննարկում) 20:33, 19 Հոկտեմբերի 2023 (UTC)

Hello Bernardus63. Before the 44-day war (2020), the road (Հ49 / H49) leading from the village of Narnadzor in the Syunik region of the Republic of Armenia to the Kashatagh region of the Republic of Artsakh was passable. After the war, it ceased to be passable, since it was under the control of the Azerbaijani armed forces. According to the tripartite agreement signed on November 9, 2020, the only road that had the status of a corridor and connected Artsakh to the Syunik Marz of the Republic of Armenia was the road passing through Kashatagh region (Berdzhor or Lachin Corridor). Lachin Corridor was supposed to be controlled by the peacekeeping contingent of the Russian armed forces. However, from December 12, 2022, Azerbaijan closes this corridor, putting Artsakh under a complete blockade. On September 19, 2023, Azerbaijan attacks Artsakh and carries out ethnic cleansing (this can also be learned from the decisions of European parliaments and speeches of various officials). In order to organize the forced migration of residents of Artsakh, Azerbaijan opens the Lachin corridor․ Currently, all roads connecting the Republic of Armenia with Artsakh are closed. I hope I was able to answer your question.--Գարդմանահայ (քննարկում) 10:28, 20 Հոկտեմբերի 2023 (UTC)
The combination of first closing off the corridor, and the agressive rhetorics combined with military action were all aimed at the goal of making the Artsakh people head for Armenia. It clearly was ethnic cleansing. And the worldwide reactions were much too lenient, alas. Some ten years ago I read Black Garden: Armenia and Azerbaijan Through Peace and War, that's why I became interested in the conflict.
Thank you so much for answering the question on (Հ49 / H49). Good to know it was passable. I tried several google searches with english and Armenian queries but couldn't find any information on how much it was used. Without this information it's not really worth including it in the dutch article on Nagorno Karabach as a former route from Artsakh Republic to Armenia. If you happen to be able to find any documents on the past traffic use, that would be welcome. But maybe it's just undocumented. Anyhow, have a nice weekend, cheers, Bernardus63 (քննարկում) 16:30, 20 Հոկտեմբերի 2023 (UTC)
