Brian D. Miller is the Assembly member for the 101st District of the New York State Assembly. He is a Republican. The district, includes portions of Delaware, Herkimer, Oneida, Orange, Ostego, Sullivan, and Ulster counties.

Miller is a longtime resident of the Utica, New York area and today resides in New Hartford, New York with his wife and son.[1]He is a graduate of Mohawk Valley Community College and has worked as a mechanical engineer for over thirty years.[2]

In 1999, Miller was elected to the Oneida County Legislature, and later served as its chairman of the Public Works Committee, assistant majority leader, and as a member of the Ways and Means Committee. He also was Bridgewater Town Supervisor for eight years.[3]

Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney ran and was elected to Congress in 2016, which resulted in the seat being open in the 2016 elections. Miller opted to run to replace her, and in the Republican primary defeated Maria Kelso to take the nomination by a 54% to 46% margin.[4]

In the general election, Miller defeated Democrat Arlene Feldmeier and Kelso again, who was running on the Conservative line, with over 54% of the vote in the three way race. He was sworn into office on January 1, 2017 to succeed Tenney.[5]
