Sara, of the Division of Policy, Performance, and Management Programs, has been volunteering for Takoma Radio, a low-power FM station, reaching about five miles from downtown Takoma Park, Maryland, since 2016. In addition to other support activities for the station, she does a music radio show every other Thursday night on which she plays indie rock and other genres, with a local emphasis. The station is a project of Historic Takoma Inc., and its mission is to build community and promote understanding using noncommercial radio.
