English: Locheng is used during prayer time, breaking fast time and normal time. This item was sued as a reporting tool at a time when there were no modern reporting tools like today. Usually they are kept inside village head's home or people with titles. The words on the Locheng translates to "This is the address of Pengiran Muamad (Mohammad) Date 1280 (Hijrah)". That year is more or less 1862. According to the information given, this locheng was ordered by Pengiran Mohamad and presented to Pehin Khatib Osman bin Hashim. This was then passed down to his son Awang Asbi bin Khatib Abdullah, who gifted to the Brunei Museum in 1966. It has a height of 7" and a width (bottom) of 10".
