Սեքսի փիլիսոփայություն, կիրառական փիլիսոփայության ասպեկտ, որը կապված է սեքսի և սիրո ուսումնասիրության հետ: Այն իր մեջ ներառում է այնպիսի երևույթների էթիկան, ինչպիսիք են մարմնավաճառությունը, բռնաբարությունը, սեռական ոտնձգությունները, սեռական ինքնությունը, համաձայնության տարիքը, համասեռականությունը, ինչպես նաև այնպիսի հասկացությունների հայեցակարգային վերլուծության էթիկան, ինչպիսին է օրինակ «Ի՞նչ է սեքսը»։ Այս փիլիսոփայությունը ներառում է նաև սեռականության և սեռական ինքնության, ինչպես նաև գենդերի գոյաբանական կարգավիճակի վերաբերյալ հարցերը։ Սեքսի առաջատար ժամանակակից փիլիսոփաներն են Ալան Սոբլը և Ջուդիթ Բաթլերը:

Սեքսի փիլիսոփայության պատմություն

Արևմտյան փիլիսոփայության պատմության մեծ մասի ընթացքում սեքսի և սեռականության հարցերը դիտարկվել են միայն էթիկայի ընդհանուր առարկայի շրջանակներում: Այնուամենայնիվ, շեղումներ են եղել այս օրինաչափությունից, որոնցից ի հայտ է եկել սեռական խնդիրների մասին առանձին խոսելու ավանդույթը:

«Սեքսի և սիրո փիլիսոփայության հասարակությունը» (անգլ.՝ Society for the Philosophy of Sex and Love) մասնագիտական խումբ է, որը մտնում է Ամերիկյան փիլիսոփայական ասոցիացիայի կազմի մեջ:

Սեռական ցանկություն

Սեռական ակտիվության բարոյական գնահատականները որոշվում են սեռական ցանկության բնույթի մասին դատողություններով։ Այդ առումով փիլիսոփաները բաժանվում են երկու ճամբարի^[1]․

Սեռականության բացասական ընկալումը, օրինակ՝ Իմանուիլ Կանտի մոտ, ենթադրում է, որ սեռականությունը խարխլում է արժեքները և մարտահրավեր է նետում այլ մարդկանց հանդեպ մեր բարոյական վերաբերմունքին։ Սեքսը, Կանտի կարծիքով, «սիրելի մարդուն հակման առարկա է դարձնում»^[2]։ Այս իմաստով սեքսը հաճախ խորհուրդ է տրվում միայն սերունդը շարունակելու նպատակով։ Երբեմն համարվում է, որ սեռական ամուրիությունը հանգեցնում է ավելի լավ կամ առավել բարոյական կյանքի^[3]։ Իսկ Ռասել Վանոյի և Իրվինգ Սինգերի կարծիքով, սեռական ակտիվությունից երկու կողմն էլ հաճույք է ստանում։
