Ալվին Կառլ Պլանտինգա (անգլ.՝ Alvin Carl Plantinga, նոյեմբերի 15, 1932(1932-11-15)[1], Էն Արբոր, Միչիգան, ԱՄՆ[2]), ամերիկացի փիլիսոփա։ Նա հայտնի է իր աշխատանքներով, որոնցում աստվածաբանական խնդիրները դիտարկվել են վերլուծական փիլիսոփայության տեսանկյունից։ Սեփական կամքի փաստարկ ստեղծող։

Ծնվել է 1932 թվականի նոյեմբերի 15-ին, Միչիգան նահանգի Էնն Արբոր քաղաքում, հոլանդացի կալվինիստ ներգաղթյալների ընտանիքում։

1954 թվականին ստացել է Արվեստների բակալավրի աստիճան Կալվին քոլեջից։

1955 թվականին ստացել է Միչիգանի համալսարանի արվեստի մագիստրոսի կոչում։

1958 թվականին ստացել է դոկտորի կոչում Եյլի համալսարանից[7]։

1958-1963 թվականներին եղել է Ուեյնի համալսարանի պրոֆեսոր։

1963-1982 թվականներին և 2010 թվականից ի վեր՝ Կալվինի քոլեջի պրոֆեսոր։

1982-2010 թվականներին՝ Նոտր Դամի համալսարանի պրոֆեսոր։

1992-ին փիլիսոփան այցելել է Ռուսաստան՝ դասախոսություններ կարդալով Մոսկվայում և Նովոսիբիրսկում։

1981-1982 թվականներին Պլանտինգան աշխատել է որպես Ամերիկյան փիլիսոփայական ասոցիացիայի Արևմտյան բաժնի նախագահ, իսկ 1983-1986 թվականներին քրիստոնյա փիլիսոփաների հասարակության նախագահն է եղել[8]։

2017 թվականին Պլանտինգան արժանացել է Թեմփլտոնյան մրցանակի[9]։

Իր երկար ակադեմիական կարիերայի ընթացքում Պլանտինգան նշանակալի ներդրում է ունեցել փիլիսոփայական գիտելիքների տարբեր ոլորտներում` կրոնական իմացաբանության, ազատ կամքի, չարիքի խնդրի, Աստծո բնույթի, քրիստոնեական փիլիսոփայության հայեցակարգի մեջ։ Նրա «Sensus divinitatis»-ը` Աստվածության բնածին զգացողությունը, իր ուրույն տեղն է գրավում Պլանտինգայի աշխատանքում[10]։

Դեռ 1980-ին «Time» ամսագիրը այս հեղինակին նկարագրում էր որպես «աշխարհի առաջատար բողոքական փիլիսոփա», իսկ 2001 թվականին «Christianity Today» ամսագիրը նրան անվանել է «ոչ միայն իր ժամանակի լավագույն քրիստոնյա փիլիսոփա», այլ նաև «բոլոր ուղղություններում ամենանշանակալից փիլիսոփան»[11]։
